MONDO CON IS COMING!!!!

Something is creeping up on us all in a couple of weeks and I’ll be damned if it doesn’t rhyme with “Spawn, Blow Ron!” That’s right…MONDO-CON is (almost) HERE! If you aren’t familiar with Mondo Con, here’s a quick rundown: It’s an illustrator’s mecca and a poster-collector’s utopia in the middle of the most non-Texas part of Texas: Austin!

Organized and curated by MONDO, the exhibit hall this year is packing in so many talented international illustrators and designers that I won’t be surprised if the actual EBAY website shows up to buy everything.
Regardless, I am beyond lucky to be able to participate in the convention again this year, as it is easily one of my favorite (and most inspiring) shows of the year.
So I’m making my booth a little special this year. It’s hard standing out amongst a crowd of insanely talented Mondo artists like Jason Edmiston, Kevin Tong, Aaron Horkey and legends like Jock & William Stout, so I’m just going to be a Dick about it! Literally, I’m overflowing my booth with DICKS! Or, at least, drawings of Dicks.

If you have been following my INSTAGRAM over the last few months, you may have seen my latest personal therapy: “DICK TRACING”, the repetitive and bizarre line drawings I’ve been creating revolving around my favorite 1940’s Detective, Dick Tracy. Don’t ask me what it means beyond an opportunity to spend my time making elaborate dick jokes, because I don’t have an answer, but I love drawing them. So I did it a lot. But what you may not know, is that the very first “Dick Tracing” that I drew was actually at Mondo-Con in 2014, so it seems fitting to bring my Dicks home this year!

So, that’s exactly what I will be doing. This year, at my booth at Mondo Con, in addition to my art books, zines and enamel pins, I will be showcasing and selling over 100 ORIGINAL DICK TRACING drawings, all on sale for $50 each, and all measuring an impressive 7 inches! This may be the only time you get to see THIS MANY DICKS all in one place, just “hanging out” together! No limit on how many Dicks you can buy. And just like a circle jerk, its first come, first served! So come by my booth first and check out my Dicks!

Also, it wouldn’t be Mondo Con if I didn’t offer up some ultra-rare screenprints, so I’m doing that, too! I’ll have a very small amount of random VERY RARE posters and artist proofs, some that I have never actually had for sale before. So yah, if you are anywhere close to Austin, TICKETS ARE STILL AVAILABLE HERE!

Ok, Dicks out. See you soon!

"HALF A NICE DAY" + NEW ZINES ON SALE!

"HALF A NICE DAY, YA DINGBAT!"

Hi friends! So, I completely (and happily/surprisingly!) SOLD OUT of the FIRST printing of these shirts at Comic Con but the SECOND PRINTING is NOW UP FOR PRE-ORDER for a limited time on alexpardee.com so you can tell your chest that you're a half-empty kind of person and that's why I love you! According to the number of people laughing at my chest, I'm assuming that this is the funniest shirt I've ever made, unless they are actually laughing at my chest which is highly probable but whatever!

"HALF A NICE DAY"

$30 each, sizes Perfect to Perfect (Small to XXL) are available. Shipping worldwide (ships in Sept.).

ALSO NOTE THAT MY TWO NEWEST ART ZINES, "DICK TRACING" & "SUREWHYNOT?" ARE ALSO NOW UP FOR SECOND PRINTING PRE-ORDERS HERE FOR A LIMITED TIME TOO!

HUGE "DOPPELGANGERS" Print On Sale SOON!

Over the course of 6 years, I would occasionally paint a quick watercolor portrait of one of my favorite movie “monsters” as a little therapy break. This side project quickly became an obsession in revisiting every movie I loved growing up and making myself smile along the way. Last year, all 185 paintings were collected individually and published in my latest art book, called “Doppelgängers”. However, now, all of these maniacs are finally hanging out at the same party. All 185 of my favorite monsters on one giant horrific print.

“DOPPELGÄNGERS” Limited Timed-Release Print

Anyone who purchases this print at my booth at San Diego Comic Con (BOOTH #5502) will receive a little EXTRA fun: A pair of signed and numbered exclusive “Event Tickets” as well as a cheat-sheet/legend to be able to easily identify each monster and the film they inhabit (both items seen here). The Comic Con price is also $80 each. (NOTE: If I have any extra cheat-sheets or tickets left after Comic Con I will randomly insert them in some online orders).

Thanks so much in advance. This print means a lot to me.

THE ASTRALNAUTS HAVE LEFT THE PLANET...FOR NOW

Well, "THE ASTRALNAUTS" art show has officially ended, and there's not much more to say aside from THANK YOU!!! It was an amazing ride, and Matt and I can't wait to continue expanding the Astralnauts universe. If you couldn't see the show in person, or if you would like to visit it again in 2-Dimensions, our good friend PAUL ANTHONY put together this awesome video walkthrough of the gallery and of opening night.

Greg Aronowitz sculpts my GHOST!

The incredible Greg Aronowitz and his magical team of fabricating wizards created the centerpiece for our "ASTRALNAUTS" art show at Gallery 1988 in LA (which is still on display until June 25th, check out the whole show online HERE). The work Greg usually does in the movie and TV industry is phenomenal, but I was BLOWN AWAY by how amazing this WYATT sculpture he did was. So so so great. Watch him and his team at Barnyard FX create Wyatt from scratch in this video below. If you have a chance to see Wyatt in person at the gallery YOU SHOULD GO! HE WILL LOVE YOU!!!! (so will we).

Check it out:

Greg was thrilled to be invited to participate in famed artists Alex Pardee and Matt Richie's art show entitled ASTALNAUTS. This gallery collection focused around the story of a space exploration team who's job it was to seek out and capture rough spirits through the Galaxy.
